Looking for a list of books

Hello All,

I'm currently new to BDSM. I'm looking for a list of books to read and learn more about BDSM. I believe that i'm more of a submissive man as i'm passive and I do back down when around more dominant people. Please do share if you know any good boys as i'm in it for the long haul.

I curate the Resources page for Seattle's Women's Welcoming Committee, and we have a list of suggested reading there:

I hope that this helps!

Thank you so much. You have just made the nerd in me so happy. Which book do you recommend? I will also check them out and see which one I might buy first. Hopefully other women might share other books.

(First post, please be gentle...)

I'm utterly new to BDSM as practice too, but been studying it 'academically' as it were for some time, mostly from a psychoanalytic / clinical lens... So the following is biased (and may or may not be great for an "intro"), but at least should help contextualize BDSM theoretically I think:

- Freud, "The economic problem of masochism" (1925).

- Deleuze, Masochism: Coldness and Cruelty (1967).

- Julie Reshe, "BDSM Therapy". Medium. March 9, 2017.

- Colin Wright, "Sadomasochism and the Body of Law: Lacan’s Reconceptualization of Perversion as père-version". Theory & Event, 16, no. 4 (2013).

- Meg Barker, "Existential sex therapy". Sexual and Relationship Therapy 26, no. 1 (2011): 33-47.
