Hi, The Academy in Fort Lauderdale, FL was eye opening and exceptionally informative. The lectures and classes introduced me to activities I had not had prior exposure to. And taught me to take ownership for and to relish safety. In particular breath play and whipping. The lecturers were the most knowledgeable in their respective subjects, to be found anywhere. I came into the SM world amongst WW2 Ex military where discipline and protocol were the norm. Old Guard certainly did exist, contrary to the oh so prevalent naysayers and deniers of today. Your book is perhaps the only written record of that time period. I cherish it, and frequently reread it reminiscing of my own similar past experience. Many people were not around or in the lifestyle then and haven't a clue as to what has gone before. Nor what it was like to be leather/kink in the late '50s and early '60s. Thanks again, for contributing a wealth of knowledge and experience which has definitely enhanced and also enriched my life. Btw, I was saddened to read of the passing of Vic Tella.
