Only scum asks an Intersex or Trans person "but what is your real name?"

Today I met another EMT at my job who's an orphan so naturally I got along with her.

That was until I shared I was Intersex. When she asked about my condition and I felt I could share the full truth it was a big mistake.

All of a sudden what was a cordial relationship turned into her grilling me for my "real name" and getting all personal about my genitals.

She also referred to me as a malformed women and told me how sorry she feels that I'm not a whole woman.

The faith I had in this person clearly misplaced. I figured she as someone who struggled in a similar manner could be my friend.

Yet she failed human decency. She did what so many attempt to do rob me of my personhood.

Not a single person asks to be born Intersex or trans. You think I wanted a body that is "atypical".  :

Myreplymy name is my real name, it's on my medical license, birth certificate, social security card, passport and since everything was done when I became an independent minor as a teenager any other records were sealed.

She replied well that's not your real name though.  News flash my name is my real name, and I don't give a damn what my family that didn't want me attempted to call me.

Anyone who thinks otherwise needs a lesson on morality.

“That’s how Yubaba controls you… by stealing your name.” -Haku

aPeepingMom(sub female) - That’s like telling someone who was adopted (including an official birth certificate, social security card, passport…. all the legal documents) that their name is not their real name.

Yes it is, bitch. It’s. Their. Real. Name.

(Also, I know that adoption or marriage is NOT the same thing as what you have lived. I am inspired by you, thank you for sharing your story.)

IceGirl(switch female) - Thank you the support helps much appreciated. I share in part because I feel people need to be aware how nasty and disrespectful people can be and I save lives for a living.

Where's the justice ⚖️?

MK' - Wow, I'm sorry you had to go through that. Unfortunately, ignorant people are everywhere. What gets me is the fact people now feel entitled to ask you about your genitalia. If you were a straight woman/man would they be asking the same questions? Why do people feel that If they consider someone different from the norm, they have the right to invade that persons privacy? We are all human and deserve to be treated with respect and dignity. My neice is now my nephew. Did I question their life choices and voice my opinions on the matter? No, I just accepted what he told me. People need to stay in their own lane.

IceGirl(switch female) - We both know they wouldn't it was an 10 hour shift and when we were both orphans everything was cool and we both had families with substance abuse. We both went into being EMTs because we felt how cruel and unfeeling people can be so I thought wow maybe we can be super tight.

But then when I said I was Intersex she couldn't let it go. I have a condition where I am geneticly male but have a cis female body and she was obsessed with everything litterally even asking me about my periods. It was as if I was just in the freak show of old and she wanted to get a perverted look into my life she even was like can you have sex?

Like I just met you get outta my personal space.

Xsky(switch female) - I wonder if she was even aware she was disrespectful to you? Some people have no sense. Sometimes co-workers are the worst! Sorry you have to deal with things like this.
