As many of you get ready for a Valentine’s Dinner, 

I sit in a waiting room of a hospital waiting for Hekate to come out of surgery. 

Before you all start with the OMG what happened???,

This was a planned surgery that happened to fall on Valentine’s Day.  We have been waiting for a bit for it. (Part of the reason I have been absent)

None the less, instead of  doing the traditional thing, I will practice my patience for a bit longer. As if I have a choice. ??

It also gave me some time to reflect while looking over Lake Superior.

I/we are not looking for your sympathy or anything along that line. What we would ask is that as each of you celebrates in your own way, that you remember that there are those out there that cannot, for whatever reason. 
Say a prayer for those who are fighting this Valentine’s Day. 
Also, remember to never take for granted what you have and to give thanks for it every chance you can.

So again I see that the predators are among us.

I am not talking about the Primal/prey types either.

Nope!!  These are the ones that want to come in and pretend that they have been in lifestyle for a while , yet there profile screams “I am a newbie and on the hunt for a woman or man that I can manipulate under the umbrella of BDSM.”

They try and tell people that you have known for a good while that “That person is no good for you.” or “Protectors are only there to manipulate you because they are predators and that’s what they do so they can hunt as many subs as they can.”??

Obviously, they will give you some story of how they have been in lifestyle for 10 years and that they see it all the time and to trust them because they are right. ?

What these people fail to realize is that the community is pretty tight knit and that we all talk. We have all heard the same crap over and over again. (If I had a dollar for each time…)

I like to think that we, as a community, are very welcoming to those that are just coming in to the lifestyle. We don’t care about how much or little experience someone has.  It is okay to be humble and say that you don’t know what you don’t know.

What I think that most of us can’t / won’t tolerate is someone that comes in like they know everything about everything when we can all smell the BS like a Male dog can smell a bitch in heat. Anyone in this lifestyle knows that it would take multiple lifetimes to learn everything.

If you are new to BDSM, just say so and begin your journey the right way.  Do not be so eager that you fabricate who you are.  Again, we can see it.  Also, a lot of us live by certain principles which include the 4 pillars of Trust, Honesty, Respect, and Communication.

Last time for the people in the back. 
It is okay for you not to know what you don’t know. Honesty is better than creating something based in a lie. ?

What a fucking fantastic weekend!!!

Hekate and I celebrated our 1year anniversary this weekend at Naughty Revival 2023 and it was truly amazing. Happy Anniversary Hekate?❤️?❤️?

We met up with old friends from last years event, which was also our honeymoon.

We met new and amazing people that we will be building amazing friendships with.

We scened in the amazing dungeons they had at the event.

We went to some spectacular classes also.

Our time could not have gone any better.

Today, Hekate and I are recovering from all the activities from the past 3 days. As we do, we are reflecting on the events that took place and the people in the community we have met and are starting to network with.

Where we are at in MN, there is no community that is close. There are people but no clear community.

For this reason, with the help of others we met, we are starting a community for the North Central part of our State to help with education and event organizing to bring people of like minds together. 
Educators that we have known and just met from around the Country have agreed to help us with this endevor.

House Yggdrasil is beginning to take shape from just a concept with a few people in our area to ramping up as a full community with the support of fellow kinksters, and kink educators.

Hekate and I cannot thank those involved enough. This is about making a place that is safe for all. From beginners to those that have been in the lifestyle for years.

As I said, it was one hell of a weekend!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEVIL DOGS!!

So as we start the fall season, I would like to take time and post a reminder. This is more to myself than anyone else but, should you find it helpful, then that is a bonus.
remember to take time for yourself and get out and do the things you enjoy. We run ourselves ragged because there are always things that neeed to get done, and if anyone is like me, you are constantly on the go.
I am blessed that I am in a relationship where my partner understands the importance of self care.  Not only for her but, for myself too. Tomorrow starts deer opener her in MN. This is just 1 time of the year that I look forward to.  Many might think that the whole purpose is to go out and get a big ole buck, and while that would be nice, for me it is different.  For me, it is about getting out into nature and sitting in my stand and decompressing. It is about watching the squirrels run around in the leaves or the flock of turkeys as they pass by my stand. It is about listening to the wind as it blows through the trees. It is about re-grounding myself amid all the chaos that day to day life brings. And if a big ole buck happens to walk in where I am sitting, then that is meat in the freezer. ?

My point is to remember to go and get away from the day to day every now and again to refresh the mind, body, and spirit. It will help to refocus on the things that are most important to you, the things that really matter instead of the BS that really doesn’t matter. Take time for you!!  You will be a better Dom, sub, and partner for it.  And make sure that your partner is doing the same.
