Is there only one way in this lifestyle? One “true” way?
The answer is NO!!
There is no one true way to this lifestyle. We each have our individuality which makes each scene, dynamic, and relationship different.
There are different styles to Dominants. There are different styles to submissives. There are different styles of flogging, whipping, bondage, etc…
For a person, any person, to come in and say “you are wrong” should be a red flag. It is to me. Of course I am not speaking about fundamental things such as safety, consent, etc..
But if someone tells someone else that the way they do their dynamic, their play, their protocols, their rituals, their terminology is wrong and there is only 1 “true” way to do things or say things, my advice is to say thank you and walk away from the individual. Because each scene, play session, dynamic, relationship is different and as unique as the individuals that are practicing those things.
We talk to others and discuss about having an open mind, yet there are those in this lifestyle who’s minds are closed to anything other than what they think is the 1 “true” way. To me, my opinion, that is hypocritical.
