So the other night I was watching TV and they had one of those "Paranormal Caught On Camera" type deals, where people just end up taking videos of weird shit. Stuff that makes you go "What the fuck is going on." And a couple of them would have things like birds and planes standing still in the sky, or animals or people seemingly frozen in place. One of the narrators said that, some people speculate that all of our reality is just a simulation, a "Matrix" like that 90's movie, and occasionally there are "Glitches in the matrix." Then they asked, "If so, then who controls the matrix? Who programmed it? Who is the mastermind behind all of it, if this is true?" Like, they were implying it was some advanced alien race or something, because that show has a lot of UFO clips too.
Then I thought to myself, well, read the Bible.
You know, I almost hate to talk about religion on here. People are gonna assume, "Oh he's Christian, he must be this or that and such and such, then." I mean, I get it. Not everything that passes for Christianity is positive (Believe me, I know.) But I shy away from all of the darkness, and the controversy, or those kind of dark, judgemental attitudes. Really, all it is to me is... The mastermind behind the matrix. One of those old philosopher guys, I cant remember but I think it was Plato, claimed that the reality we experience is like just a projection being beamed onto a cave wall, a mere reflection of a greater reality that lies beyond the cave wall. Maybe the whole of reality is like that. The "matrix" we are in, with it's occasional glitchy frozen birds and people and what not, is based on a wider, brighter, more beautiful and more infinite whole that lies beyond the veil when you unplug the simulation. Maybe when we die, we pierce the veil, leave Plato's cave, and see the whole bright reality that projects onto the shadows of the cave wall.
And maybe, at the core, before it got burdened with a whole bunch of other superficial political crap, Jesus's message was simply, (and I'm paraphrasing it) "Yeah, I know you guys probably screw up a lot and aren't perfect. But I'll take care of the fucked up dark evil shit for you, just follow me and I'll lead you through the veil and out of the cave."
