SirsBabyDoll(sub female){Pizza+☕} - Periods separate sentences/thoughts from one another. Commas create a pause. Exclamation points signify excitement. Colons are used before a list. Question marks signify a question is being asked.

vixianna(sub female) - Which one's exclamation again and colons BTW I hope this doesn't sound insensitive or like an insult but where were you when I needed to learn this back then you make it sound more simpler than any of the teachers

Reread what you wrote out loud. As you do, in those spots where you naturally stop to take a breath, that's usually where punctuation goes.

Here's an example:

"I've asked this on another site, but, I'm asking it here now, too. I'm curious because I'm always flat broke. So I've been trying to find a way to make some money because I physically can't work."

See how in the first sentence you talked about how you asked on another site but where asking here as well THEN you went on to explain in detail WHY?

In writing, a good rule of thumb is that the first sentence of a paragraph is USUALLY the topic of the sentence (I'm remember back to all those English tests that asked you to find the topic of a sentence. It was one trick I remember a teacher telling me.)

Anyways, when you are speaking, that mental change/direction usually happens when you stop to take a breath and THAT spot is where a period goes.

SirsBabyDoll(sub female){Pizza+☕} - Have at it! English is the hardest language to learn...even when you speak it. You are not alone in your struggles. I struggle as well. Grammer SUCKS!
