Behind friendly lines

There's a famous line in a mob movie that says "This is the life we have chosen". Army life is the same way. It's not an easy life. We "work" weekends and holidays. We go where the Army sends us. We can be deployed anywhere in the world at a moment's notice. We go into to violent and austere environments to visit violence and carnage on those who seek to harm. Sometimes days I love this life and some days I hate this life, but it's who I am and have become. Love us or hate us, we'll stand the post.
