Why We Wear Steel. Steel is nothing but rock in the ground (Iron Ore) until heated and pound with strength, knowledge, practice, sweat, pain, blood, patience and time becomes Steel over time No Longer just wright Iron but something different. This Steel Crucible Steel is something that can flow like water, but still burn everything thing in its path, but the steel is brittle until it is tempered by Cycles of Ice and Heat ( Just like at Bondage and Discipline ) thus needs to taking care of slowly, then the steel will hold an edge, and this Edge can cut if even in the earliest of Stages (This is Vetting, Safe-wording and Ultimately and Foremost Full Informed Consent) bend but not break (This is the Pillars of BDSM which one its tenets is Do No Undo Harm. The wearing of steel is similar to the wearing of Leather can Steel can be earned in the same way as Leather and this Earned Steel is something that you Should wear with pride as something Forged in the Crucible of Your Dynamic and Your Relationship. The Most common item of Steel in the Community is Ring of Steel as known as an Eternity Ring, this collar in the past was only worn by Full Time Slaves in a Master/slave Dynamic, but as over the years came to express for some the meaning of a wedding ring. The other Common Item of the Community is Steel Lock (known in the Vanilla world as a Padlock), this was used before the Ring of Steel and still very common among the Gay Leather Culture, I Still do have my Padlock it is attached to my First Collar given to me by my mentor nearly 25 years and still locked and I do not have and or will ever have the Key as she took with in her in death thus Eternity
