Something’s there 

Maybe not

Could it be real

Or just an illusion

So many emotions

So much left unspoken

How do we know 

When we are afraid to utter

Too soon, Too unsure

Dodging of possible rejection

What if the feelings are one sided

What if they turn away and run

What if they love someone else

But if left covered

A missed opportunity

A confusing conundrum 

We shall never know

Unless a risk is taken

And true feelings are revealed

Why so afraid?

Only an illusion
