I did not realize this was a "thing" until I ran for local office (Over 15 years ago. I lost but it was very, very close.) and a few women came up to me and whispered that they were not listening to their Husbands and voting for me. :)
I am outside my Precinct on Election Day ever since because of some nastiness I encountered, during that run for office, from a few on the other side. I get some of the same comments. Some say "I don't like your Politics but I like you are always here" with a smile on their face. Some men have yelled at me various insults through the years but I still get the whisper in my ear, at least once a year, from the Wife not listening to her Husband about how to vote. It always makes me smile. :)
I feel like people agree on way more than then disagree about. We all want the same for our Children and Grand Children..... a better, and safer World to live in. And, it seems to me, that based on our personal experiences, we just have different ideas on how to get there.

I'm not sure how TD views it but I don't see what you posted as "hijacking a blog" to me, hijacking is when someone comes along and post comments to deliberately start arguments and divide..your comments are shared with hopefully many regardless who we vote for.. it's unfortunate that some feel they cannot share with their friends, family and especially with their partner.
