I want to be ambidextrous. I had the revelation the other day when my right hand struggled to help the left the same way the left so naturally helps the right. It's common to assume the dominant hand is the "better" one because it's the one that takes charge but I'd argue that both hands would struggle for different reasons if left alone to do something. I think forcing my right to change perspectives when doing a task will make me more well-rounded and able to handle "anything."
Doesn't the idea of equal hands sound awesome? And the one that takes charge is the one that's better suited for the task? No longer would you get as pinned in minigolf! (That's genuinely where the thought came to mind lol.)
My right hand still does things by default but it's more from muscle memory sometimes. Glancing through the science of dominant hands in humans, the fact that the brain is divided seems to be the best guess as to why this happens. So maybe it's idealistic to imagine a perfect balance where any potential delay in using my left hand in my right-sided brain doesn't make it less capable than the right hand. Time will tell, I suppose!
