The Culture that has been here all the time

When I studied to acquire my Master's status I discovered the M/S relationship existed probably for all the history of humans. Religion and Western Culture distort this greatly. Using codes and euphemisms even denial masks it presents the fact many people thrive within this often unrecognized subculture. For example, my wife had all the earmarks of a pleasure slave and was generally devoted and submissive to me. In times of marriage friction, I often heard the words from a counselor, "She just wants you to love her" "Love her" I thought I was and did now I know without a doubt I need to be a master, not some preconceived idea we are to live as equals.

Hello Friends,

I have met some people here in The Cage who have interacted with friendship, which is good. My caregiving, even with help, is still a challenge, and I still do not have an everyday social life and probably will not for the foreseeable future. I do not frequent taverns or clubs, so getting out is limited to rides and visiting a market, maybe a small museum. My connections with very few relatives and friends are essential, and I will do my best. Reinvigorating caring for my house and yard is also important: It is a touch of normalcy and a change from feeling housebound. I think about people in the world severely impacted by conflict and natural disasters and count my blessings.

In other words, caring for my wife, even with help, remains a challenge and impacts what many people consider to be everyday life. Don't take life for granted and become restless because you feel it is too ordinary. Enjoy the ordinary. It is a blessing.

Bunnie - I’m glad you have this outlet. Being a carer is exhausting, and there’s not much opportunity to be able to say that because I don’t know about you, but for me there’s a guilt hidden behind it because I’m not the one who needs the care. But the reality is that it *is* exhausting and it takes a toll. Sending big *hugs* your way.
