Some of you may know about the subject of this post, but some may not: Items are not what they say they are.
Even though "nut" is in its name, a peanut is actually a legume. Like soybeans, lentils, and other legumes, peanuts are edible seeds that grow in pods.
Tomatoes are botanically defined as fruits because they form from a flower and contain seeds.
A strawberry is actually a multiple fruit which consists of many tiny individual fruits embedded in a fleshy receptacle.
A banana is an elongated, edible fruit – botanically a berry
Corn, Zea mays, belongs to the Poaceae family, and while eaten sometimes as a vegetable and sometimes as a grain, it is actually classified by botanists as a fruit, as are tomatoes, green peppers, cucumbers, zucchini and other squashes.
The avocado, alligator pear or avocado pear is a medium-sized, evergreen tree in the laurel family: Prized for its large and unusually oily fruit.
Eggplant, aubergine, brinjal, or baigan is a plant species in the nightshade family Solanaceae. Solanum melongena is grown worldwide for its edible fruit. Most commonly purple. *
Many animals may not be in the family they seem to be (probably another blog).
