The embers deep within are glowing. The heat is rising and spreading. My spirit is starting to thaw. The fibers of my being snapping to life.
I still feel the pain as icy blood still flows in my veins. I want to dash the embers and let my body drop back down into the Abyss, to remain hidden and lost forever.
I inhale deeply with eyes closed tight, holding my breath.
All the rage and fear, every self doubt churns deep within
My lungs burn, I open my mouth and scream “NO!”. I scream so loud the icy wall begins to crack, and moan
I want to breathe fire, torching the icy fingers that hold me in place to end this icy tundra
The embers dance and grow, glow hotter and hotter.
Oh how it burns, as I stoke the fires with all my fears and doubt.
The ice melting, steam rising, tears falling, releasing all that holds me back
My heart ignites, the embers travel rising up. The beats of my heart grow stronger and stronger.
I reach out and hold my hand open wanting my fingers to intertwine with another's.
To have my flesh pressed against his.
My heart beats loud and strong filled with fire and glowing embers to love.
