Miss Scarlet - While I haven't had the opportunity to switch in person, I enjoyed a rather light dynamic online for about a year. We traded "scenes" and both of us just seemed to know when one of us was ready to take the reins, so to speak.
We were both open to try new things, and there was a kindred connection that just seemed to work. My blog from 2019 could explain the details better, I think. lol!

SchrodingersDinosaur​(switch female) - Okay okay, I FINALLY made it in, no need to text bomb your own blog, Jack, my turn!!! 😜 So Switchiness… like EVERYTHING else in this lovely World O’ Kink in which we reside, is handled in a few different ways. My preference (STRONG pref) is that I seldom switch roles in a singular dynamic. I can really only think of one exception to the rule, but generally if someone tickles my Domme feelers, I have less than no desire to sub to them. Not that the desire to kneel happens at all these days, but back when I was active the reverse was also very much true. If someone brought out my subbie feels, I was pretty unsuccessful at confidently topping that person. Ergo, considerably more useful in poly, ENM, or play only dynamics.

SchrodingersDinosaur​(switch female) - Part deux… I think it’s probably more common for Switches to be a little more fluid, either in one on one dynamics, or in general. Kind of ‘hey who is feeling froggy tonight’ thing. For me I personally don’t care for the jostling for power of it angle, too exhausting! Either I wanna be on top or on my knees with someone, no confusing the Dinosaur! 😁

Switching isn’t just a play/ sexy times thing only. The everyday relationship ‘care and feeding’ is exactly the same as most dynamics. Again depending on preference as above, it can be either sides of the roles being filled by different partners, or a general back and forthedness (yes! Is too a word, dammit) being the ‘directing* partner. I’m personally not seeing how fluid Switching could possibly work from a TPE type of a perspective, but since I’m not a TPE kinda gal anyway it isn’t something I have put much thought into.
