In light of everything that has happened I decided that instead of defining what I want in a Dom… a person…. I’m going to define the perfect collar that I will accept to place around my neck.
I was asked by my brother in law, “What do you want in a Dom?”
I couldn’t answer. Perhaps it isn’t so much that they are a Dom and hold certain characteristics but that they are invested in me. The connection is what really matters. Nothing drives me more than someone who knows me to my core; who has taken that time and understands me.
So here it is. The Collar.
The first thing I would like is for the collar to be made by hand from the bones of a rattlesnake. Not a murdered rattlesnake, but the bones of one that passed due to some accident or natural death.
I used to own a necklace made from rattlesnake bones. I bought it from this weird little store in the middle of nowhere when I was taking a UNIX networking class at Ft. Huachuca in Arizona. There were no paved roads to get there and if you sneezed you’d miss it. It was appropriately named “The Rattlesnake Store”, as everything in it was made from rattlesnakes.
The bones should be stained just a little. I don’t really like anything bright white and I enjoy a rustic edgy appearance. I don’t really want the skull of the rattlesnake, unless it is small and has it’s mouth closed.
The second component is what will bind the bones together. I’m still mulling this over in my head but I have two ideas. If a chain is used, it should be a strong chain. I was considering one for military dog tags. If my Sir happens to be one that serves or has served, leave the tags on the chain so I can wear them proudly around my neck. A leather cord might also work. I want a nice fastener for it if the cord is used.
The third component. I need moonstones. Somehow these moonstones need to be set in the bones. The more the merrier. Sparkly. (Okay no not really too many.. I sometimes need to reign in my inner faerie).
The fourth component. Adequate provisions for trinkets and coins gathered from various locations that Sir happens to bring me. I like travel and new experiences. I like trinkets and things to remember these things by.
The fifth and final component. Somewhere there needs to be the words “Love never fails” etched into it. Then opposite that “Szer’as so’as bas’sekir”. The latter means the same thing but in my made up fantasy language.
So… I have a feeling Milo might need a set of thumbs.
