Submissive, masochist or recipient of stimulation in an SM scene. Most people use the word to mean specifically someone who enjoys being given various sensations, as opposed to a submissive, who enjoys being controlled.
Until I got into the lifestyle...I had only heard the term bottom used in the gay male world. One of my best friends is gay and he would use that term to identify types of men. He would point them out to me while we were out. The was one term he used among many... then when I entered the lifestyle...I heard it used in a different but same way. The entire time I never knew I was a bottom too!
