Branding
Making a permanent or semi-permanent scar on the skin by burning it with a heated metal object, as practiced on livestock and in earlier times on slaves and criminals. Can be carried out safely with the correct technique and aftercare but still likely to be intensely painful, and seen by some as the ultimate either in body art or as the culmination of a heavily submissive relationship or scene.
Growing up my family held many brandings for the spring calf's. Back then I didn't think much of it... as that something we just did. It was part of life. Now I remember it different... really pretty horrific if I think about it. The calf would be pulled away from its mother, the held down by men and branded. If they were male... they would be castrated with no anesthesia. I can remember the screaming of the calf's and their mothers. I remember the horrible smell. I feel guilty about being a part of it to this day.
That is all that's in my head when I think about this topic.... sorry to be a downer... but that's my thoughts...
