Enter the Void

Ramblings and musings of a fox who is struggling to pull herself together and regain the confidence that was once broken and stripped from her. Will most likely be nothing more than a mind dump when things are getting rough.

"These haven't gotten too hard this time."

I looked up to see my love patting a huge rolled up "haybale" of snow he made a week or so ago. Usually by now they would have become almost solid blocks of ice. I guess despite the rain and gross weather, that didn't happen this time. Smirking, I made my way over toward him, and asked, "You know what /does/ get hard though?"

As always with my slightly childish, albeit amusing to me, questions, I watched the switch in his head flip from confident adult to shy and nervous, a playful innocence. "Ummm..." I stopped in front of him, smirking. "Rocks?"

I laughed, looped my arms around him and pulled him close. "No... What /gets/ hard?"

"A... Tree?"

Another laugh, and I saw the slightest hint of mischieviousness in his eyes. To most its unnoticeable. But to me? I see everything in those deep, gorgeous pools of blue, ringed in what oftentimes looks like gold. "C'mon now, you know what I'm asking."

"Hard-boiled eggs?"

I laughed, "Those arent /actually/ hard, love."

He thought for a moment. "... Cement? Yeah! Cement gets hard!" His eyes lit up, and he looked so proud of himself. That was TOTALLY my answer, right?

I gently grasped his sides in my hands, a silent threat to tickle him if he didn't answer correctly soon enough. A squeal fled his lips, his body instinctively squirming to try and get away. "No, no, no!" He begged, "Okay! Umm!" A gasp, "Lava! Lava totally gets hard when it coo- Eep!" A few squeezes to his side to signal the incoming assault on his body. "Okay, okay! Umm! Waaaater when it starts to-"

"No, come on now!" I urged, laughing as I hooked one arm around him and pulled him close, starting to tickle up to his neck, "You know what I want! Just say it!"

He laughed, squirming against me, "Umm rocks! No, I said that... water- no... um... I dont know!"

I pulled him in tight to me, nipped at his ear, and pulled back my head just enough to look at him. "Yes you do. What does get hard?"

At this point, that shy, innocent look returned to his eyes. The look that had my insides burning, wishing it wasnt freezing cold or broad daylight so I could just take him right there in the dog park.

"... Me?" He said, soft and quiet, with a small smile gracing his lips.

I smirked and leaned up to kiss him full on the lips. "That's right, my good boy," I purred. When I leaned back onto my feet, I noticed a blush rising up on his cheeks. No, that color wasnt from the cold, either.

"I made you blush!" I cheered, laughing happily and attacking his face with kisses, "That rarely actually happens!"

"N-No!" He stammered, embarrassed, "Its just cold!"

"Nope~" I leaned in, nuzzled his red cheek, and then kissed him there, "You're blushing, it's so cute."

He uttered a few other words in protest, but I simply leaned up to kiss him. "I love you."

A bit more of a blush, and he smiled down at me. "I love you too."

So yesterday, something along these lines happened while we were trying to entertain ourselves during our dog's play. I dont remember all the details, mostly just how adorably innocent he was and how much his finally answering me and his blushing drove me crazy. But instead of just telling everyone about it i thought it would make a cute little story :)

So... enjoy :P
