...and Why You Shouldn't Hesitate to Do so If Warranted
We have a very simple reporting system at THE CAGE and we encourage everyone to use it when necessary. Please note that reports are for THE CAGE rule violations, which is as far as our reach extends. If you believe your safety is at risk please contact your local authorities. Don't forget you can block a user by visiting their profile and selecting the "block" button. If you use Premium chat, please "mute" the user there as well. Reporting and blocking should hopefully resolve most issues you may have with a user.
Although we encourage you to contact us directly if you need help it's always best to use the official report button to let us know about an issue. This allows all staff to view the report and also creates a record to use as a future reference. Mail messages might get overlooked and BOND messages might get missed. Clicking the report button is the quickest and most effective way to get us to take action.
If you've never filed a report it's simple and confidential. Just visit the appropriate profile, scroll down, and select "report". The following form will appear:

"We want THE CAGE to be a safe and welcoming environment for all of our members. If you think someone is acting inappropriately please use this form to notify us of the behaviour. All complaints are completely confidential.
Please note if you wish to report a serious incident such as a threat of bodily harm or if you feel your safety is at risk please contact your local police department."

Below this form you'll find a space to add details and the option to provide a screenshot. Screenshots are particularly useful in evaluating a situation so include one if you can. The more details you can provide, the easier it is for us to investigate the issue. If you simply state "harassment" or "fake" we will likely contact you to request more information before proceeding.
Every report is read and responded to, usually within 24 hours. More complex issues that require further investigation may take a few days, or even up to a week. Our investigation includes reading any relevant profiles, blog posts or forum comments. We do not access private messages although they may be included by the reporter as part of the report.
If you are reported and we believe the report to have merit, you will be contacted privately by a staff member who will issue a warning and possibly a request to remove or edit a post or comment. We keep a record of all reports. Individuals with repeated incidents may have their profiles restricted. Commercial profiles, escorts, findoms, trolls, and spammers are banned immediately.
Reporters are usually contacted to inform them of the outcome of their report. We appreciate that on occasion the reporter is unhappy with the outcome. Please know that our actions are impartial and we do our very best to be fair to all parties.
On occasion you might wonder if you should bother to report something that doesn't concern you specifically, such as an email or a request for money in a profile. With tens of thousands of members and more joining every day THE CAGE Admin Team depends on the community to help us keep the site a safe and friendly place to be. Restricting publication of outside contact details and requests for gifts/cash/etc., are simple ways to keep scammers and trolls out. Again, all reports are confidential so please don't hesitate to report anything that doesn't look right or that you know to be a violation of our rules.
To all of you who take the time to report concerns, thank you. By doing so you help us to protect the community and keep THE CAGE a great place to hang out.
