Random, and a little eclectic. A few quotes and poems I found that I really like/connect to. Some of these do not describe my current lifestyle or current situation. So whereas they may be dark, or melancholy. Please know that I may be going through certain struggles - these do not represent or describe me completely.
I'm unsure why entirely I'm posting this. I get a gut feeling someone may need to read them this morning. Maybe intuition?
Unsure... But anyways-
“Do not fall in love with people like me.
I will take you to museums, and parks, and monuments,
and kiss you in every beautiful place,
so that you can never go back to them without tasting me like blood in your mouth.
I will destroy you in the most beautiful way possible.
And when I leave you will finally understand,
why storms are named after people.”
― Caitlyn Siehl
“It was a question I had worn on my lips for days - like a loose thread on my favourite sweater I couldn't resist pulling - despite knowing it could all unravel around me.
"Do you love me?" I ask.
In your hesitation I found my answer.”
― Lang Leav
“Be like the flower that gives its fragrance to even the hand that crushes it.”
― Imam Ali
This last one sticks with me, even to this day.
“You tried to change didn’t you?
closed your mouth more,
tried to be softer,
prettier,
less volatile, less awake;
but, even when sleeping you could feel
him traveling away from you in his dreams.
So what did you want to do love,
split his head open?
you can’t make homes out of human beings,
someone should have already told you that,
and if he wants to leave,
then let him leave.
You are terrifying
and strange and beautiful
something not everyone knows how to love.”
― Warsan Shire
