when we were getting things ready for my first trip to the mountains this women comes out of the woods trail on one of our horses she said hi Mari where is sir James OMG no one told her. I did not expect thee reaction to the news of sir passing, she fainted luckily one of the stable men got her before she hit the ground. When she came-to she said it figures just when I decide to accept his collar he goes and dies before I can tell him. after she started crying it out. I went in to validate that sir made this offer and found that yes he did not only make this offer he was so sure that she would accept he went ahead and had a collar made for her. after informing the women's council of sir's offer and decision we went ahead and accepted her into the family. now her responsibility to the family is for her to handle the calling. if and when the ladies could not go as well as looking for others vet's living out there. Things become clear to us that he was more complicated then even we knew. sir had set aside her contract in his personal papers under lock and key but he did give his outline for us if she accepted the collar. ( a little description of our collars is in order here). They can more be described as torque's they are a solid gold band with a wolf head and in its mouth is a gem stone of our birth. this is every day were for us we do have a much more intricate one for evening ware or formal times this is much wider and has gentile pattern of Celtic design. When we presented it to her we told her the truth that sir had it already for her should she accept. that started the tears again. yes we women cry in joy as well you men will just have to live with that.
TIP: If you really want to get to know someone take a long trip on horseback at the en you will ether love them or hate them.
We started our trip three days later the ranger told us that she found 3 new people two women one man that will need supplies and help so we packed extra sat phones and chargers as well as a case of pads for the women. along with an extra pack horse and cart. Off we went ranger girl warhorse me and wolf at the end of the first day of travel we stooped for the day and made camp in all the books they make it sound like it takes no time at all let me tell you that first day it took 2 hrs to set up by the end of the trip it still took an hour. Why because you had to unharness and unsaddle 7 horses clean and feed them find a spot to pitch the tent make a fire ring start the fire bring water to boil for cooking and cleaning (cleaning can go unless you are a woman). after eating you have to clean up wash utensils put out the fire (this is real life not a movie if you plan on keeping a fire going all night plan on losing sleep in the woods fire is the most dangerous thing around). we would have had to do this but we had wolf with us so she kept watch at night and very few animals will come near a wolf don't think your family pet no matter how big is going to protect you family pets are just part of the food chain to the coyote. So between the sent of humans and wolf we could sleep fine. after we ate we had time to talk and she told me how she met sir and that is a complete blog in itself maybe with her permission I'll write it. I'm sorry if you find the details of setting a camp boring but it's important if you ever find yourself stranded some day.
