Two family members going to the hospital one after another is zero fun. It’s actually a lot of panic and hyperfocus while your normal life routines get tossed out the window. Everyone is fine now and I have the chance to reflect on how well I kept it together. Spoiler alert: I didn’t.
EDIT – Since I started writing this I went down with the sickness that’s been running rampant – stomach flu. Yuck! I’m on the mend though.
Support Networks
Seriously, I don’t know what I would have done without them. But let’s be honest, “support networks” sounds so clinical. What they truly are, are dear friends who are there through thick and thin. People I’ve been there for. And people who have a need to help me – even though it’s hard for me to ask for help.
Support Networks aka Safety Nets
Your support networks are safety nets that catch you when you fall. And this is no different than the BDSM safety protocols you create and nurture. The stronger your networks and protocols the less damage you take when you fall. So, take that time to nurture them today, while you’re in a place where you can be the giver.
