Aspects of Domination/submission My opinions

My thoughts on the idea of domination/submission based on what I see and read on this site and my own experience

First off I am not talking about the interaction of two (or more) warm bodies in a private place. That is another topic.  Just look at the personals on this site. For the most part one gender is looking to met another specific gender.   All different combinations of course.   On that level, the sexual component is obvious. Lets look at some actual practices.   Telling a submissive to get undressed is certainly an act of domination.  This is true even online with a written order on a screen.   It is even true if there is no visual connection. The submissives genitals are exposed as a show of obedience. Many relationships include "impact play"   (an interesting euphemism )    Has anyone ever heard of a submissive being spanked or whipped with their clothes on?   But is it all sexual?   Is a collar sexual?   Verbal insults?   Certain types of humiliation?    In my opinion, the answer is no.

HGB(sub female){Scottish M} - For me scenes and subspace are not sexual. What occurs between my ears is where my sexual internist occurs. My body does not react if my mind is not attached.

Bunnie - I have come to believe that yes... it’s not necessarily sexual as such... but definitely based around pleasure.

I understand this is an unusual thing to say, and not a view commonly shared. We like to believe we’re deeper than that lol... I get it.

However, I tend to agree with Dragon... it’s about arousal.

As deep as we may be on a soul level... when it comes to physiology... we’re pretty simple. Hormones, although not very romantic, are a major driving force for us. So unless you have medical reasons that prevent it from occurring, arousal of some form... be it emotional, mental, physical... is not only something that will occur beyond our control (physiologically speaking)... we seek it out.

If pleasure wasn’t our main focus in life as human beings... why is all commercial industry focused towards that which brings us pleasure? Be it food, entertainment, ways to self-numb. We want to feel good *all the time*. There are many studies that go into how we’re actually hardwired this way. Anyway, it’s fascinating if you’re ever interested... I’d recommend delving that bit deeper and looking into it :)
