The problem is Cage has such a small user base that those we connect with as family do disappear, they're absence is noted.

I'm with Miss Bonnie: I hope they have found their Happy Ever After!

The problem with me is I have been around too long (I've been on Fet since almost the beginning) to know sometimes they leave and will never be back. That is why I made by blog post about someone who I noticed was missing. But have heard through the grapevine they are fine.

TD,

Perhaps the vine could tell them that they are missed, their uniqueness and humor are loved..

Regarding those who were active in here but are no more... It's canbe compared to life itself, in microcosm.

In all aspects of life one meets people, engage for a while, have a good time of it but one or the other finds other pursuits and drift away.

In IRL it can be likened to a coworker with whom one has a good rapport, even outside the workplace, but, by and by, the next best thing comes along, they pull up stakes and pursue that new career opportunity and make their new friends and travel in new circles there and fade out of "here".

In my four decades on this globe there are innumerable people with whom a good time was had and still everyone moved on in life.

I have disappeared from the day-to-day of equally uncounted persons myself as well.

This happens a lot as one finishes one phase of schooling and graduates to the next.

As the old cliche goes, there is one constant in life, and that is change.

Except of course two things that never change: Death and taxes.

-------------------------------

So.. in IMHO, why dwell on the departure of albeit great presences in here when there are always new people coming in to replace them.

Some might be great and long term contributors while others pop in for a short spin on the twisted wheel of BDSM life, but all are people who have arrived after others have left and the cycle will repeat until finally "we" ourselves move on to different experiences be it online on social websites or IRL.

Everyone "leaves" , sooner or later.

----------------------------------------------------------

And on a side note in keeping with the "ghost" theme.. Someone with too much time on their hands did a projection based on user stats on Facebook and at some point in the not too distant future, perhaps already, I didn't pay a lot of attention to the study, but on Facebook, more than half of the profiles on there will be of people who have died but no one went in there to delete or even "Memorialize" the accounts.

I'm probably quite a ghost on here, though it is unintentional. At least, the majority of the time, it is. 😅 I became a ghost once the semester started, and I figured that focusing on my classes would be more productive than anything else. I only recently came back after a few months. Since I've been back, I've received a few messages here and there, but with everything I've been dealing with, I haven't found much of an inclination to respond (and for anyone who's messaged me who hasn't heard back from me: I sincerely apologize!!). It's weird because I can understand the frustration of being ghosted, but I also understand the act of ghosting simultaneously. However, for me, it depends on the situation and if the ghosting is justified. That's how I feel about it, anyways. ♡

I personally don't see any fault in just drifting off and doing other things rather than replying to a message from someone you aren't interested in. If someone stops replying, I just assume they weren't serious or that they have other things to do or just aren't that interested in me. I don't automatically assume they're a bad person--which is what I see a lot of people assuming when someone stops communicating. Just take the hint and move on. It really isn't that big of a deal.

This. Many dull people lack decent communication skills and get offended when they don't receive a response to the garbage they send.
