Blocked

How do you know if someone has blocked you or if they have just deactivated their account?

They changed this a bit.

Now, if they blocked you, you will be unable to view their profile and they can't see yours. Also if you see their post on a thread and the "heart" logo for liking a comment is dimmer and un-clickable.

If they deactivated their account or got thrown out of here, it will say "This Profile Does Not Exist" if you click on a member's name.

You can also check if a profile is gone by trying to view it without logging in. The worst you would see is "This user has limited profile to registered members only" or something to that effect.

Thanks. What I saw was "The Profile Does Not Exist", so I guess than means they deactivated their account. I doubt the person got thrown out.

From the help file.
Long...

How do I block another member?
Blocking someone is straightforward and helps you avoid unwanted interactions. To block a user, simply visit their profile and select Block.

Once you block a user, they will no longer be able to contact you, view your profile or blog, comment on your posts, reply to your comments, or like your content. They will still be able to view any content you have made public.

Blocked users, as well as users who have blocked you, will not appear in Online Now, Last Online, or Member Search, unless you search for them by name.

If someone blocks you, they will no longer appear in your blog feed, and you will not be able to access their blog or profile details. You also cannot add each other to Contact Lists, which is a Premium feature.

This action applies both ways. You will also lose access to the blocked user’s content in the ways described above.

Please note that blocks have a 24 hour cooldown period. After unblocking someone, you must wait 24 hours before you can block them again. This prevents users from briefly unblocking someone to send a message or comment without giving the other person the opportunity to respond or react

I am not talking about me blocking someone. I know how to do that. But when I suddenly see that someone (who I recently ended things with) has a "Profile No Longer Exists" when I try to go to his profile I am wondering if he blocked me or if he deactivated his account and is no longer on cage at all. Just wondering if me ghosting him made him deactivate his account as he had no reason to block me.
