A CAUTIONARY TALE
Tables turned
When I was a foolish lad, I knew all the things I had say, to get a girl into bed, so i could have my way
Promise them the moon and stars, tell them they are the only one, then I was gone like a rocket, the moment the deed was done
Showering them with compliments, tell them they look so fine, treat them like they were Queens but to me they just lines
Catch one with my bait, they were quite easy for me to hook, but even before I landed them I was already on the look
Looking for my next conquest, I enjoyed a one night stand, nothing deep and meaningful, just relief from that night's rand
Breaking hearts wherever I went, no thought for the tears they've shed, as long as I got my way and they got in my bed
Now I'm old and so much wiser, I'm sad and all alone, all I have are memories and dreams made up on my phone
How I wish I could turn back time, knowing all the things I've learned, now I'm the lonely one, oh how the tables turned
