As a nation we lost our Monarch, may She rest in peace
Our guiding light
Our country lost its heartbeat, the Queen has passed away, now she's with Prince Phillip, the country's left to pray
For most of the country we only had her has our head of state, not expected to be our Queen, this was changed by a twist of fate
At such a very young age she was sat upon the throne, she took it all in her stride and made the role her own
With kindness and compassion she talked to one and all but she also was a strong Monarch and she was no body's fool
The nation knew it was coming but it has still struck a awful blow, now the country will come out in force and our love for her we'll show
Many have only known her as our ruler, now we have a king, though he will be respected but it will be a very different thing
She guided us through years of change, she even ate marmalade sandwiches with a bear, through the years of war, she was always there
Now her guiding light has gone out, in our hearts she'll always shine, God bless you your Majesty, you'll be remembered for all-time
