Her Daddy left on a business trip today and she becomes anxious even though He is just a phone call away she feels the separation in Her heart
and knows that these thoughts of Him will consume her until He returns
the little girl in her tries to be very brave but when she comes home
the house is empty
quiet
she will miss all of the anticipation...of her Daddy coming home
jumping into His arms as soon as He walks through the door
telling Him about her day
sitting on His lap
listening while He shares His day
His voice alone readying you
to serve Him
kneel before Him
after dinner is done
she goes upstairs to her room
as she passes by her Daddy's Study
she can't help but peek inside
there on the bed
is a note
"can't be for me"...she thinks
"i'm not allowed in Daddy's study
without permission"
but she just HAS to look
her curiosity getting the better of her
she slowly enters and approaches the desk
there she reads the note...Go to the bedroom
as she goes she sees it - as she loves even his penmanship
as she reads ....dear little one,..it's all right...I left this for you...
I will miss you very much while I'm away
I have left for you my button down shirt from yesterday
you are to wear it to bed each night until I return
and sleep in here with Me
I will call you when I can...but as always...I'm here baby girl....call whenever you like...even if it is just to hear my voice....I will check my messages often...

she holds it to her face breathing in His scent - of Old Bay Rum
wanting Him near her she holds it close
then slowly undresses her clothes fall to the floor
she can't wait
to put her Daddy on
be wrapped in His arms
under the covers with Him
"thank You Daddy" she thinks as she drifts off to sleep...oh thank You Daddy!
