The Phoenix - Eros' Rising

"Passion has overthrown tyrants and freed prisoners and slaves. Passion has brought justice where there was savagery. Passion has created freedom where there was nothing but fear. Passion has helped souls rise from the ashes of their horrible lives and build something better, stronger, more beautiful.”

What is being self aware?  So many answers to a simple question. To me, it is owning my shit and not projecting it on to another. If I am upset and mad, I don’t take it out on an innocent person. It is knowing who you are and what your emotional/mental state is at any given moment. It is being able to take a step back to look at a situation in a different perspective instead of reacting with your emotions.  Learning to take emotions and setting them to the side in order to look at different situations.

What does being self aware mean to you?

And, being honest, how self aware are you?

I would love and can’t wait to see the responses you all have. 😁

There are no wrong answers as an FYI. This is about your perspective.

alawey(sub female){(OWNED BY } - I would agree with owning ones own shit.

For me. I try hard to remember not everyone has a hamster like mine. ( shit it even throws my BBS and Wulf a few curve balls sometimes. )and to be honest sometimes I don't get the why been something but I get the why beside the action. ( phhfff see, I'm not sure that makes any sense to anyone but me).

I also think that being self awareness is being able to have a taboo talk ( political, religious, ect) with someone who sees it differently without getting into a yelling / fight situation.
Along with knowing yourself well enough that if you say you are going to do something ,you will do it come hell or high water.

Just my two cents

SirsBabyDoll(sub female){Pizza+☕}Verified member - For me, being self aware is not only understanding how I function but being honest with myself about how I DISfunction. In order for me to own my shit, I have to be honest about my shit in the first place. Why I have shit, where it originates, and what shit I'm avoiding.

Literate Lycan(dom male) - Good answers above. I would offer perspective (literally the word that came to mind as I read your blog before I reached the last line - hmm - excellent word to end it on). Realizing both what we see from the inside as well as how it appears from the outside. I would surmise most individuals only ever see what's seen from the inside - hence we are not fully aware of the totality of the picture we present.

I would say some days I am very aware of both how I see the world and how the world sees me or the situation. But some days (many days) I only consider my own internal view. Great morning thought for the day. Thank you for blogging.

Beautiful eyes(sub female){Taken} - To me it's stepping back and looking not only at the things I want to be but truly feel. It's accepting me. Seeing the positives and negatives and choosing to try and be better than myself and be the person I strive to be. Being truthful with myself.

Morley(sub female){Max Sterne} - I like to think of myself as very self aware most times. And what self aware to me means is: UNDERSTANDING myself, my reactions to things (the why); understanding my needs vs. my wants, understanding ME as WHOLE is when I'm most self aware.

On the days that I am lacking self awareness, are the days I question without clarity or understanding, ME, my reactions, needs vs. wants etc.

Thankfully most times I am quite self aware. And more thankfully, the days I'm "disconnected" or lack my self awareness, I have an amazing Sir who knows me better than I know myself, and brings me clarity and centers me back to my self awareness, my understanding of ME.

Great post! ☺️
