A New Beginning

Hello from your neighbourhood Squid. I have been interested in elements of BDSM from quite a young age, specifically primal play. Despite this it is only recently that I decided to finally reach out and connect with the community. After seeing the blogs of other members I figured it would be interesting to do one from the perspective of a fledgling so that I can have a personal record of my own development. And hey, who knows, maybe it will benefit some other individuals who are still new to this world! Because its okay to make mistakes, we're all human after all!

Wow, anyone else dealing with the massive swings of interest caused by ADHD? After being off here for ages, I was reading a book and now my curiosity of this community has reared its head yet again!

Anyway, I was wondering about everyone's experience getting into the community. As much as I love the kinks, my nerves prevent me from exploring.

So how did y'all break the metaphorical ice in this situation? I was wondering if it may be in my best interest to try attending some of the larger events to ease into it!

Yours truly,

Squid

Cozubia(dom male){She’s Mine} - I personally found that posting blogs and in the forums to be really good places to start. It really helped me to get a general understanding of what I want in this lifestyle. From there I’ve been able to do some research and learn a lot, especially by talking to people who have been in the lifestyle for a while.

While I’ve been unable to attend any of the local meetup munches or gathering in my local area, I do know they can also be a great place to meet people and expand your knowledge and social circle, if you’re a social kind of person at least.

Either way, I hope you enjoy your journey and find all of the things you’re looking for!

MZack(dom male) - I’ve also had a similar stint of breaks from the community when starting out, ADHD is the worst procrastinator and motivator 😂 making friends, learning, going to events, workshops, and markets - that’s how I continued my interest in it all!
