A friend asked why a man should face jail time if they refuse to pay child support while a woman gets off free.

My first response was why is he refusing to take care of his child?

Why can't he take responsibility for his actions?

Didn't it take two people to make the child?

Didn't the woman suffer already?

Didn't she adapt, eat for two, become emotionally imbalanced for nine months?

Didn't she shit on the delivery table?

Didn't her vagina expand the width of a basketball?

Didn't she suffer the pain of an epidural for it to not work, in which, she has back issues 'till this day?

Didn't she endure X amount of time in labor and recovery?

Did she suffer from post postpartum depression?

Doesn't she have to be mother and father for the next 21 years?

Women do not get off free and clear.

Do not be assholes, people. If choosing to or accidentally entering parenthood, take care of your responsibilities.

Cozubia(dom male){She’s Mine} - I may be wrong on this, or it may be regulated at a state level, so it may vary from place to place, but I think that even if the roles are reversed and the father has the child and the mother is more of the “deadbeat” that has to pay child support, she can face jail time too if she doesn’t pay. So even not counting all the things you mentioned, the mothers don’t get off for free.

It’s a shame, really. There are so many men who would love a chance to be a father and raise a child, but never get a chance. But so many guys go around knocking up women all over the place and just don’t care. Buncha jerks!

B L O N D I E(sub female) - I'm a mother of three children whose father is a total deadbeat and doesn't contribute anything. He doesn't even show up for their birthdays. In my opinion, any person who can't say with absolute certainty that they take care of their kids is a despicable excuse for a human being and not worthy of anyone's time or respect. It doesn't matter of it's the mother or the father. I know plenty of guys who have been abandoned to take care of the kids alone while the mother runs off to be "free". That kind of behavior is the most pathetic, disgusting, worthless behavior imaginable no matter who does it. These people don't deserve a place in the human race and no one should be respecting or dignifying these people with the time of day.

Satindragon - Speaking from the experience of raising three children with no help plus couple of grandchildren along the way. There are plenty of worthless parents to go around. Take a good look at our foster care system. Or the exorbitant amount of grandparents who are raising their grandchildren with no support from either parent. Bottom line in this lifestyle is if either person has children, how well do they take care of them? Because if they don't take care of their children they won't take care of you.
