I posted one of my mandalas a while back and the core of all my mandala drawings are based on eight points. This has significance in various cultures. It is the star of Ishtar/Aphrodite/Venus... In Judeo-Christian belief the number 8 signifies new beginnings, and redemption and baptism. I wear an eight pointed star tattoo on the back of my neck because it is important to me. I am a very eclectic individual and I find so much peace in this symbol.
