CSI - Depends on the hood. Some are made of cotton or a blend (like a pillowcase) that only get tightened/fastened around the eyes and most leather/latex hoods have a zipper/fastener at the mouth and/or holes in the nose area. I find them remarkably comfortable, but I have never been enclosed in one without being able to breathe for any long period of time.

NoClvrNickname​(sub female) - I have one that covers eyes & nose but has a hole for the mouth so breathing isn’t an issue.

sexycurves​(switch female) - I balk at the thought of an eye mask, so a full hood is not going to happen with me

I_am_the_Sea​(sub male){One Day} - I have a full leather strict hood with only mouth opening. It's got 3 locking straps and laces up. It was master's favorite and let me tell you it was all I could do not to panic when I saw it.

Tried it once and it was overwhelming and I didn't even get the laces done up. I think I would have to be tied down or something before it could be placed on me.

We had another hood much the same but with openings for eyes and mouth and oddly enough I was fine with that one. But that full hood? Shudder...
