So as to a blog awhile back, my youngest child will be moving in soon. So for the last 6 months we wanted to get some things done around here, but do to just got last year's tax refund about 3 weeks ago, the weather, life in general, we are just starting now.
I got rid of a lot of stuff before Hazel got here, but she has added her stuff, we have bought some new things so it started adding up. As I got older I have become more of a minimalist, less stuff to move if we want to.
So yesterday the dumpster arrived, 14 foot long, 7 foot wide and 5 foot deep. As I'm headed off to bed I inform Hazel to enjoy her day off I will take care of some stuff when I get up.
Now I didn't get to bed until noon about 2pm I'm awakened by our horse barking in the living room, I get up, go to the living room to find she's barking at Hazel throwing stuff in the dumpster.
Put the horse in the bedroom, back to sleep. 4 pm sound of horse barking in backyard, how did she get out, where and what is Hazel doing. I go to the backdoor, look out to see Hazel talking with the neighbors, dog barking, all I want is sleep.
So I take a seat at the table, light a cigarette and wait for her. She comes in the door ask me why I was up, take one guess as I eye fucked her dog. Apologies made, I said didn't I tell you that I would take care of this stuff.
Her answer was it's a lovely day and she wanted to help, understand that since she works a lot and with school she doesn't have time to help me with stuff around the house. I don't mind it's my job since I have no outside employment. She is to do her school work and her job, all I have ever ask of her. Well besides the stuff required for our lifestyle.
I can't stress how much I appreciate this woman, my last 2 ex wives did not help much even when they had time. Hazel's always saying she doesn't do enough, I beg to differ.
So in her day off this is what she did. Cleaned up a bunch of wood from a branch that fell during a storm, picked up all the sticks in the yard, got rid of some old boards and lumber that the trash company wouldn't take. Cleaned out all of the flower beds, applying new soil and mulch. Started planting new flowers and herbs, raked all the leaves away from the fence all while I slept.
Now before you start calling me a slave driver, in my defense when I got up and after dinner I did do my part. I removed 2 old wooden desk from the basement, a small secretary desk, other miscellaneous furniture, boxes of junk left by my first wife that I missed. Took down an old work bench, cleaned the cat box, vacuumed the house, swept the back patio and tucked my beautiful lioness into bed.
Today will be another day filled with removing more stuff and getting things done before my child get here.
I truly can't imagine my life without her, she may think she doesn't do enough but it's the little things she does that our world changing for me.
To you my beautiful lioness, thank you for all the things you do for me. I will make sure you have some kind of bbq on your next day off, grill is needing to be used.
Update, we got a ring pro 2 doorbell, this thing is amazing, she also got the alarm system, will be here Saturday. We got an ecobee thermostat awhile back, I'm starting to get out of the dark ages with all the new technology.
