ughhh i am just fascinated with this movie and the dedication from the actors, dancers, artists, choreographer, director, and all the other people it took to make this awesome production
might be an unpopular opinion among theatrical performers but i thought the movie was absolutely superb
It took so much work to fully envision the perspective of the cat and make their bodies move in that way and understand the mind of it all and i am just truly impressed
ALSO people like Idris Elba were talking about how they work with all of the amazing dancers and singers in this production and it is a rewarding experience but often it can make you feel intimidated AND that to a theatre person, like myself, is so great to hear because it ensures that even the greats get nervous and intimidated sometimes
Plus, Andrew Loyd Webber came on and helped with the music and that so cooool because he wrote the original music for the the first performance of CATS with the original actors and he is just an absolute legend
if you do end up watching the movie make sure you watch all the way past the credits because they talk about the experience of it all and process and at least for me, it puts the work in such a neat perspective
I feel reminded of why i started loving theatre in the first place and i just fell in love with it all again
OKAY i'm going to learn some choreography off of Youtube now!!
