Canes. Pleasure or unusual punishment

First I would like to thank everyone that is following and commenting on my blogs. I have been a writer on hiatus for years. This forum has inspired me to get back into doing what I love.

So today's topic is an interesting one. I recently did a blog about trusting your partner/Dominant and understanding that you let what happened in the past keep you from enjoying that same things you feared. Your new person may have a better understanding of your needs and feeling. They can execute the activity in a way that will bring you pleasure not pain....no matter what the activity is.

Well my friends i am here to tell you I am being sort of a hypocrite. My Dom wants to introduce using a cane. I have never had anyone use a cane with me before, but I can't seem to get past the fact that in other countries they use canes as extreme punishment. I don't see why he wants to use one so bad. I need your help. Please chime in Dom or Subs and share your experience so i may understand better. Yes this topic is approved by my Dom.

IceGirl(switch female) - Well does he already use whips paddles or chains? If so and since any of them can hurt you its a matter of degree and of trust.

Personally i have never used a cane before bit i have used real whips so i am not one that i can easily judge here.

Indigolover{Beast} - IceGirl, no whips, chains, or paddles. Just a flogger and his hands. I trust him with my life, but again I have never seen it used for only extreme punishment never pleasure.

IceGirl(switch female) - Well a common toy is 0affles that are half satin half leather or tougher so you first get the sub used to it then if your quick enough from running the tushy to a quick jolt and now the cheek would be raw. You can turn over the soft side of the paddle and gently rub the area.

Lots of people do it.

simplylaura(sub female){djinni} - The beauty of canes is that the intensity can be completely varied by the size of the cane and how it is swung. It can be used to gently tap or it can be swung hard. You can get a good set of bamboo canes online for cheap and experiment with different thicknesses. I like stingy so I prefer thinner canes. Some people like thuddy and prefer thicker. They definitely don't need to be used in the judicial sense to get the job done. They are one of my favorite toys due to their versatility.

J Low(sub female) - I believe you've answered your own question in the paragraph above. That being said, set limits, use your safe words, do your research, please your Dom and try it. You don't have to continue with utilizing it. Think of the cane as growing, pushing your limits and increasing pleasure into your already trusting dynamics with your Dom. Fear is holding you back; focus on the trust and step out of your comfort zone.

forgedbyfire - As others have said, it depends on the dynamics you have with your Dominant. I know of dominants who use canes as their “brat tamers.” The cane is used to correct or punish their brat (who may have pushed limits too far).

I prefer thicker canes (thuddy ones), as a reinforcement of Dominance. The correction makes me really hot.
