Awake at 3 am
thinking of pleasures past
of experiences shared
the shuddering heat
desires, wants, needs
the slow movement
the dance
all of the senses alive
in tune
aligned
tasting you
seeing into your eyes
touching skin to skin
scents in the air
sounds of heart and breath
time and aging may play cruel tricks
But the mind remembers every nuance
of a life lived well
regrets yes but few
moving from autumn to winter
yet memories come unbidden
of times shared
