They appear like wraiths in the night
The memories of years gone by
Then as fast they slip away like birds in flight
Whilst they are there we relive again
Those times that made us smile
And yes the ones that gave us pain
But still they appear the thoughts unbidden
A memory that time does little to ease
Yet we are still the forbidden
The stain that time can’t erase
Maybe just maybe one day
“this too shall pass”
