This workshop explores how fear can create arousal, covering its psychological and physical effects and how to manage instinctive responses safely during consensual scenes. Participants will learn to negotiate limits, use sensory elements and communication to build suspense, include additional participants safely, and plan, ground, and de-escalate scenes with trauma-informed care. The workshop also addresses distinguishing healthy play from harmful dynamics, navigating consensual nonconsent, strengthening intimacy, and using props, humor, and rituals to shape and safely transition between heightened states.
