Detransitioning

When one detransitions what happens to them? I'm detransitioning and it's honestly one the of the scariest things that I've ever done.

My heart rate will randomly spike, I feel alot more aggressive and maybe it's me just imagining it but my emotions feel like they're narrowing. My beautiful skin is slowly becoming rougher. I feel like this hybrid. I'm self isolating while all these changes happens in hopes that I can feel and act normal again one day.

Anyone else experienced with detransitioning?

I have no answers only a suggestion that perhaps YouTube might offer what you're looking for. I'm always amazed at the wealth and variety of info available there, especially in regards to personal experiences and helpful tips.
Best of luck!

I second that, there are not that many trans people here, and I suspect none have detransitioned, or, considering the hatred directed towards trans people, plus the lies and scapegoating going on, using detransitioning narratives to support that hatred/misinformation, I think you need to be very careful what you watch, read, and be aware there is often an agenda behind a lot of detransitioning material, and its very much anti trans people.

What you are experiencing is kind of what I would expect you to be experiencing.

My first port of call though, would be local to you trans supporting charities, groups, who should be able to offer support, advice, even able to point you to detransitioning support groups, and medical advice. I would also directly seek medical advice from your Dr, regarding what effects there will be, in relation to whatever you were taking, and are no longer taking.

I wish I could offer more, I wish you the best on your journey.

Thank you both.

@dollMaker I definitely agree medical and local trans support groups. However my doctor hasn't encountered someone like me before and their knowledge is pulled from places that barely resemble this situation. My trans support and clinic stopped talking once I mentioned I was detransitioning. It felt like I had made a taboo move with detransitioning. All the support, guidance and hype evaporated.

I'll definitely check out the YT that you both mentioned and see what I can glen from there.

That is a great shame, as there needs to be support for people who ultimately decide its not for them. The big issue is there is barely any medical help for anyone trans, for transitioning and as a result detransitioning even less. Everyone in this deserves medical help, and support.

The brain has control of the body and will tell the body when it is time to change. The logical mind has no control over it. It's more of a "shut up sit back and hold my beer type of thing". Nothing you can do till it's over. There are support groups as you have seen above. Take you time and get scope out the ones you find and feel around till you find one that is right for you. Till then remember we are here and we may only be here in spirit we never judge or hurt. Stay safe keep calm and don't drink my beer.

I promise your beer is yours alone!! Yeah it's definitely just on for a ride and waiting for things to settle down. (Hopefully it does).

Can you start an online detransitioning support group of your own and advertise in kink classifieds such as the cage and fetlife and Reddit?

That way all of you can compare notes and share any helpful info for any needs you might have. And if anyone knows of some good resources such as medical professionals or helpful articles on various detransitionimg topics, then you can network with each other.

Just a thought.

DL, so sorry to hear you are experiencing some scary reactions to your detransitioning. Think back to when you first started transitioning, did you experience unusual or possibly scary reactions when you first started to transition?

Although you didn't mention taking any meds, I suspect you were taking hormones and now you are not? If that is the case, I think you are now experiencing the withdrawal of those female hormones and your physical, as well as, emotional makeup is experiencing changes once again too.

Speaking from experience and being a woman of a certain age, I can completely relate. I had an early and very difficult menopause. At the time, medical guidance stressed the dangers of HRT. I had terrible symptoms: incredible hot flashes turning so red that people would ask me if I was ok, horrible night sweats, massive irritability to the point of almost rage and some insane bouts of insomnia... you name it I had it for like 7 years of perimenopause. When medical opinion changed once again, I was was finally able to take HRT which was an absolute godsend. It basically replaced what my body no longer made on its own.

Please seek out medical and emotional support to help you now and if you don't get the answers that you need, be your own best health advocate, keep going until you find the answers or combination of support that brings you back to your baseline (for whatever your decision becomes).

You should not suffer, it is not you, it is a chemical imbalance that is affecting your body, mind and spirit. Do not give up until you find whatever it is that works for YOU. Hang in there and please take good care! A.

You beat me to it! I was thinking about the medication withdrawal.

Think about the science of transitioning, every change your body goes through. The same will have to happen again. It's a normal process. Make sure you are in close communication with your doctor, for your sake, their sake, and future scientific knowledge. You are very brave to detransition and your journey, because it's not usual, may help medical science understand the process more completely.

I'm sorry your support group has shut you out. It's not fair since you are transitioning. Your body is going through a MASSIVE amount of stress and you need the emotional support to handle the emotions that will come up.

Stay open.
Stay honest.
Stay authentic.

This is YOUR choice and YOUR journey. Everyone else can go pound sand. ❤️
