A: If they ask for money or gift cards or other fee-for-service crap : Likely scam

B: If they ask you to meet in places with which you are unfamiliar on short notice : In all cases of Online-to-in person Contact with total strangers, watch your ass.

C: If they engage in an ongoing conversation about meaningful things outside of BDSM first... you might be onto something. Keep going

So if you don't ask for gift cards, what payment method do they usually use? The ones I've seen so far are gift cards and cryptocurrencies

OK, so, a lifestyle dominant will never ask for money, or tribute or any such pay to play exchange, because what we do, is not about money, it's about connection, fun, relationship, enjoying consensual energy exchange, and even love.

A Pro, and I have no personal issue with Pro-Dominants (Cage doesn't allow them to operate here re asking for payment/pay to play) will, because it's a business exchange, they are sex workers (again I have no personal issue with that) and require, and as they say a worker is worth their wages, so payment is part of the deal, and its traceable payment, because they pay their taxes etc and are legit - albeit in this day and age the powers that be/payments processors are making it harder and harder to do this in an above board way.

Scammers will always ask for payments that cannot be traced, because guess what, they are only interested in exploiting you, and others desperation and thirst, you are to be exploited and milked, that's all, so it's a case of get as much as they can, usual lies are pay for equipment, pay for a venue, etc and they vanish. Because the payments are not traceable, there are no consequences for them, but you, and people like you, lose a ton, and for nothing.

My advice, attend in person munches, events, to make in person connections, and only approach well established Pro-Dominants, in established businesses/dungeons - if that is the road you want to go down.

Time and communication, much like any type of relationship, be it romantic, sexual, or platonic.

My gut sees this as a bad faith question, testing how far you can push your own kink on a site that does not allow for Financial Domination of any kind.

Manipulation comes in many forms, one of the best ways to avoid this pitfall here is vetting. Ask them for references, ask others in a shared community about them. Depending on the situation run background checks etc.

Be honest and up front if it’s a huge concern for you. Have them sign a mini contract stating they understand that is an extreme-hard no/limit for you.

Honesty is the only way a kink dynamic thrives, being afraid to share info due to that kind of trauma/fear will severely impact your chance at a healthy dynamic in the future.

Boundaries , Limits , Take it slow , no desperation , Don't say you want to be claimed now or demands of humiliation, Be a good human just to know them on a personal level. They start acting for some funds delete and good bye. Know one should ask you for funds they should respect you want to date you first they want to be cherished they have to be willing to be a good wife and take you for you. Practice safe and sane as well.
