Well that just seems like a bad idea.

Alcohol affects the part of the brain that controls inhibitions. So, it will probably remove the mental barriers most people have. As you find, your sadistic side comes out a bit more prominently. Some individuals are a tad more spontaneous and may engage in activities they would normally shy away from. They may even wake up with a hangover and buyer's remorse for engaging in something or with someone they would not have desired while sober.

I typically don't drink excessively and play (never say never, but it's been a very, very long while since I tied one on). Honestly, I don't need my inhibitions reduced to enjoy what I enjoy. My brain is already wired where I like it.

But in answer to your question, although each individual may have a different response, typically it does affect your inhibitions.

Liquor simply reduces the amount of pain I feel from my aches and injuries allowing me a revigored endurance to flog and fuck so much more.

An old cliche applies, especially for those prone to looking for fun in a dimly lit, sleazy bar or club, but this can happen anywhere, even "respectable" night spots because in any watering hole, what's left at closing time is still there for a reason.

"You'll walk out the door with something on your arm that ordinarily you wouldn't enjoy scraping off your shoe."

As for the initial post, of course that shit removes inhibitions and with that a big helping of good ol' "horse sense"

As a masochist that would make me extra horny and willing and would have me waking up the next day with not just a hangover, but a healthy dose of remorse along with the inability to sit down for a few days longer than usual.

“Does alcohol affect your BDSM likes or limits and if so how?”

It depends entirely on why they’re drinking. If it’s simply a fun night together and we happen to have a few, sure… some light-hearted shenanigans can make for a great time. But if someone needs to rely on any type of substance to enjoy themselves or writes themselves off… no thanks. Been down that road in both aspects with a partner, and it’s now a hard pass for me.

Alcohol can be a wonderful lubricant.

But I personally don't think it and bdsm mix well. We already engage in risky behaviours in physical and emotional terms. Why increase those risks?

I recall in my early days being shown that I didn't need any alcohol to 'let go'. And when I explored as a dominant, I controlled the alcohol consumption of anyone I played with. Often completely abstaining myself. Especially when any impact play was involved.

Having said that, I've also experienced being encouraged to be pissed by a very trusted dominant, so we could explore the 'cnc' side of sex when I was drunk. But those circumstances should only be enacted when you're in a relationship where there is a lot of trust and respect, and you're fiddling with cnc. I came to no harm, because of the trust and friendship being very well established. And it was hot. He was of course stone cold sober.

I've never been drunk but I've seen family members in a drunk state and they were more lovey dovey.

I know that some people get more aggressive and angry, which makes it dangerous to be around them. Some drunk people kill others when drunk (ie drunk drivers). Alcohol does alter the brain.

When I'm the most horny, my mind seems to want a lot of pain. (My form of drunk.) But I'm sure my body wouldn't agree.

I would never turn my body or mind over to someone who is drunk. That's just asking for trouble. Their decision and assessment skills will be impared. They would not be able to handle me safely even if they think they can.

On the other side of the slash, I would not play if drunk, for the same reason. Part of my responsibility is to alert my partner that something is wrong. Alcohol would impair my judgement and I might get hurt.

Sub or Dom space is risky enough, let alone being under the influence of drugs or drink. So, I just think it's a bad idea to play while drunk or under the influence of other mind altering substances.

If you want to get drunk or high and then interact with a partner, just have vanilla sex instead.

The only thing that alcohol and bdsm affects is my aim. I went to paddle a nice ass did a glancing blow off the top of said nice ass and smacked her in the back of the head which she did not appreciate at all. From them on no more booze and bdsm.

It would have been funnier if you whacked yourself in the head with that paddle.

The sub would definitely had appreciated that as much, if not more than I would imagining such a 3 Stooges-type scenario.

Bottoms Up, Studly!
