Who has the right?

House Talion(dom male) • Sep 14, 2026
Serious inquiry, jonoffense intended.
Specificly to the trans ppl. As an individual of the gender youre born with, as having the intention of becoming post-op Trans, who pre-op has the right to be treated simply based on feelings compared to the general understanding of the rest of the world?
For example- a born male is mtf Trans, dresses like a female and expects everything a female has, but is pre-op

Would someone transitioning medically, hormones, and, all surgery mean, you think of them as a woman? Doubtful, I find it ironic that folks like you, who are against trans people, what your words indicate clearly that position (otherwise you would not have posted this), who have blocked all forms of healthcare for trans people, who have gone out of their way to try and outlaw the very existence of trans people (who have been around as long as people have been) would make this kind of statement. How do trans people do, what you feel makes them valid, with all avenues bar 'doing it yourself' which carries huge risks closed or closing?

Understanding evolves, progress happens, and the intolerance, and hatred being whipped up by conservative Christians, the politically conservatives, and right wingers as common sense is ignorant bullshit, as is your comment above. You have absolutely no right to question anyones belief about themself, and dismiss that as just feelings.

Gender and sexuality isn't binary, never has been, and its complicated, and not all trans people have the same needs, or requirements, particularly regarding what they need to feel whole. Not every trans person needs surgery, or even to take hormones, something increasingly impossible to do, with the hatred being piled on them, the ignorant hate based bullshit, the scape-goating, fear mongering. Its incredibly difficult trying to live as a trans woman, or trans man, in the world today, its not just about feelings, its about living a core identity, being real to one's self, being whole. How can you do that, with the media, politicians and ignorant, hateful people expressing, emboldened to show out right hatred. Is it any wonder so many trans people don't exist in public anymore, scared to do so. That so many end up killing themselves, or murdered. No one has a right to question peoples identity or dismiss it as just feelings, not reality, their in skin, in themselves identity.

I questioned my gender back in the early 80s, but with little choice, as information was hard to come by, I settled into what I was born as, no real choice, though if I was in my late teens now I would, despite the daily hatred, probably consider transitioning. Howver despite saying that, these days I am mostly comfortable in my own skin. I think this gives me some insight into this, as does the fact I have been romantically involved with two trans women, one just starting their transition, and one fully medically transitioned. Neither were any less women, and I have been around, romantically and sexually involved with enough CIS women in my life, plus knowing gay men, to know that their, all trans womens energy was/is 100% woman, regardless of their medical state, so not men (or in the case of trans men, women pretending to be male) pretending to be women BS, so nothing to do with the 'feelings' talking point TERFS, conservatives, religious people and right wingers use to dismiss trans people.

Your question is so full of ignorance/hate, though I know you won't see it, or want to see it. There is plenty of information out there, giving multiple trans experiences, information, medical opinions, you could learn from, without you posting your, I don't want to offend BS question/statement. I will tell you frankly its deeply offensive and ignorant, but considering your historical comments on this site, I am in no way surprised. No doubt some will jump to your defence, the right of free speach and why are you so upity regarding your reply, what about respect etc. Well considering the impact your kind of ignorance, and hate (manifesting as government policy, and societal opinion towards trans people, though mainly trans women) is having on trans people world wide, I feel fully justified in what I am writing here. I have seen the dirty looks, the hate, had to wipe away the tears, as a result of that. People thinking its ok to stop a car, wind a window down and scream your kind of ignorance, and hate at a lovely beautiful soul, just because they are obviously a trans women. The hatred in, 'you will never be a fucking women.' Well I can say 100% that person is a woman, no ifs and or buts and its got nothing to do with feelings, or medical status, it is who they are.

I am going to say this to all the trans haters on this site, of whom there are many, keep your hate and ignorance to yourselves, you have no right to pop on this forum with your just asking a question BS, no you are not, you know exactly what you are doing, saying, and the motivation behind why you are. I wish you would all evolve, and open your minds up, but nope, you are all destined to remain stuck, and ignorant, and hateful. The only plus, all of us who are not that way, now we can see you all for who you are.

Its this sort of thing, popping up in here, every so often, that makes this site a cold house for Queer people, LGBTQ+ people and particularly Trans women and men.

This is the fundamental point of why we separate gender from sex. Practically speaking we really don’t know whether someone is pre-op or post op without asking. And frankly some people just pass better than others, regardless of how much work they’ve had done.

That doesn’t mean they don’t deserve to be treated with simple respect and politeness.

Lastly, given the cost of surgery, saying that someone who is pre-op doesn’t have the “right,” is really saying that only trans people with money and family who supported them early on have the right.

I expect the blatant backlash from short sighted ppl, but as a straight male that simply doesnt understand the thought process I had hoped some Trans ppl would respond factually based on the feelings I simply do not have as im not trans.

You know you're not entitled to an explanation, right? Trans people don't have to justify their existence to you.

I have a friend who's trans. Let me tell you about some of the female things she gained access to when she became a woman: Misogyny, weaker muscles, crying much more easily, weird comments from creepy old men at the grocery store, and a shocking amount of hatred from insecure smooth-brained men and TERFs. But, in exchange, she gets to finally live as the person she always knew she was no matter how much her parents and society tried to make her conform to her assigned-at-birth gender, so she'd take that deal every time.

Dude, come on. We’re just asking you to be polite. I can’t speak for others but I don’t think you meant any harm by your post. I think you’re genuinely curious. But it’s important to understand that all trans people regardless of what surgeries they’ve had who are being blatantly attacked and demoralized. So, asking them what makes them think they have the “right” to consider themselves trans… you can see how that comes off as incredibly hostile.

And this is particularly true for people who have gender dysphoria. They are well aware that they don’t pass for the gender they identify with, and it’s eating them up inside. Surgeries are recommended to help them pass, but a lot of what can treat gender dysphoria is just people in their daily lives acknowledging them as their preferred gender. The best part… you don’t have to actually agree with them. It’s just being polite.

It was framed in a number of problematic ways, ways that are well known to trans people, and people who give a damn, and support their right to exist, to live and love like everyone else, have free access to healthcare, employment and to be who they are, whether medically transitioned or not. The OP's framing is coming from a place of trans medicalism, either deliberately or not. I asked the question at the beginning of my reply, about whether he would accept a fully medically transitioned trans person as a woman, or a man - it was ignored, as was everything else I wrote, instead we got a poor me, I only asked a question, why the backlash.

I will tell everyone why, because right now in parts of the world, people, governments, policy is focused on destroying trans people, to remove them from public, from every walk of life, basically to force them underground, or illiminate them fully. See what's going on in Turkey currently to see where the end game is, arresting people for simply existing, all in the name of protecting the family. What family, ohhh yeah some religiously derived model of what human love and co habitation is. People can believe whatever damn thing they like in private, but there is a reason why church and state must be separate and that is to prevent this sort of state sponsored religious bigotry, hatred, intolerance and murder, of anything that isn't them. So yes, I am pushing back very hard.

Think kinksters are safe from all this, nope, they will be coming for us too, in Turkey they have gone after all public LGBTQ+ people, and I know a number of kinksters including rope bondage people have been arrested. So kinksters are not safe, to these people we are all others.

I'm agender so might be the closest you get. I find the notion of gender really meaningless so go by male for convenience.

No one's born with a gender, you're born with a sex (is my understanding of it). Your gender is societally assigned to you by cultural traditions. See: intersex (note: not trans) people who were assigned genders and then later grew to have genitals that confused their families/caused severe emotional distress when they conflicted with gender norms.

I don't fully understand your question because the grammar doesn't really isolate what you wanted to ask. My best guess is it's somewhere around "why does a MTF trans person get to do 'female' stuff while they have a penis, just because they say they're 'female' in their head?". The rational answer is that there's nothing a man can do that a woman can't do. "Umm, I've never seen a woman bench-press 1000lbs" --> men and women can both bench-press, quantities are not in question here. There's no such thing as "female" fashion, there are dresses and makeup, and societal trends developed to make them traditionally worn by women. Those trends will, and have, changed. Women are not inherently better with kids. Women are not inherently more emotional (before you think to say menstrual cycle causes hormonal changes, remember that testosterone also varies and is far from a "stable" thing for men). Women handle dark and scary things the same way as men (see: Kurdish YPJ).

The other answer is that "my feelings inform reality" isn't exactly new territory for respectable society. Have you personally ever met Abrahamic God? Seen Him in a vision? I'm very comfortably spiritual, I'm the last person to take a swipe at common coping systems, but there's undeniably a fair bit of good faith involved in what some people say and what's actually "visibly" true. Unless you'd be fine with kids in schools putting their hands on their hearts and taking oaths to the Wachowski sisters?

Hadn't thought anyone would consider a truthful response that isnt filled with malice.

I must admit most of what I write may seem unclear, hut that is simply based on having large fingers kn a small cell keyboard.

The initial question is assuredly based on the feeling as pertained by the individual transnperson as compared to how the general public has been reacting to them while everyone's gender has always been based on their genitals

Everyone's sex has always been based on their genitals*. Until you separate gender and sex you're going to get blasted online and in-person for discussing this in this way.
