I was told to respect the office by my liberal family.
While normally I would agree with you, you are not talking about normal in this context. This "man" is not only NOT worthy of respect, he surely doesn't qualify as "Presidential." He is a draft dodging, white supremacist, misogynist, immigrant murdering, closeted gay/lesbian/trans hater. He not only was not elected by a plurality of votes, he openly solicites the support of hostile foreign dictatorships. He also doesn't qualify as a man, hence the earlier quotes. He wraps himself literally in the flag of this Country to telegraph his love and support for said flag and the military, while he disrespects the military and its leaders AND attacks the Veterans Administration, who cares for our wounded and broken heroes. Not only that, but he attacks the Federal civil service, which is THE largest employer of those very disabled veterans, he claims to love so dearly. He has rolled back SO many of the laws and regulations, that serve to protect those that need it the most, that I would need hours to cite them all.
Now if even one the things I just cited is accurate, please pray tell just what is worthy of respect? But before you answer, let me remind you that one of the basic tenets of our lifestyle is that respect is earned and not blindly commanded. Now you may answer, I implore you.
Oh and yes I am one of those "liberals" you've ignorantly lumped together at various times. However, while George W. Bush was not someone I either voted for nor supported, I would give up my arms, if that would put him back in office over our current sub-human scumbag of a "leader."
