Back in the days pre-covid we enjoyed the countdown to initiating a new sub. We will have been messaging with him online, established what we like and what we are up for, encouraged him to chat with some of our other subs (take references being one of our top tips) and then moved to the pre-meeting chat (we usually do these on telegram or whatsapp). There's always one bit in this process which I think is very important but there really is not a way to make it that sexy: the dreaded 'health & safety' list.
We have a standard range of checks we do with every sub before we play with them. Most importantly we specifically check for any medical conditions that might be an issue during play (think of things like asthma or diabetes). If there is a remote chance that a sub may need medication during a scene I want to know before hand and I want that medication in my control from the moment they arrive (most commonly a ventilator for asthma). We cover things like blood pressure (if known), injuries (look at our bondage pics if you want to know why we check for these) and any history of fainting. I think it reassures most subs that we take their safety seriously - but it still feels like an insurance questionnaire (and you have to be pretty niche to get off on those - although the medical fantasy people do quite like it).
Much more fun for me is to remind them that on their first visit they they will be losing the underwear they arrive in. So, wear a pair they don't mind losing and bring spare if they want any to go home in. No ifs, no buts, it's a rule. It is a trophy/souvenir thing. A collection of sub underwear looks good hanging on the wall of the playroom. Plus we also like to play 'match the sub to their underwear' with our pup during Locktober. The rules are simple - the pup is shown 10 face pics and 10 pairs of sub underwear and has to match them up. For every match he gets right he gets time out of chastity and to cum. he is actually frighteningly good. His last score was 8 out of 10. In fact he has got so good we now also ask for predictions - 'what underwear will this sub turn up in?' and he guesses based on their online profiles. But you know, no matter how much we remind them about this there's always one or two that forget, but really, at that point not our problem. Truth be told messages like this one do make me smile quite a lot: "Sitting on train home. No underwear and lubey arsehole. Eek!"
