Rose's Thorns.

A general pondering.
4 years ago. April 15, 2020 at 2:25 PM

Im curious many consider them an expression of art but does anyone consider them a form of self branding... just being curious

Satindragon - Everyone has their own opinion.

I don’t see a tattoo as branding. Branding is a totally different concept. I have a tattoo and will probably add two more over the summer. Branding on the other hand is not something that I would Never even consider.

You could however look at both as a form of self expression. My current tat and the two that are in the works have a special meaning.

Jolene(sub female){PapaBear} - I don't view my tattoos as art but as an outward expression of what defines me. In high school I was obsessed with stars, so I have stars on the top of my foot. I rode dirtbikes with my father, so I have an Alpinestar on my ribcage. Wolves were my favorite animal for years, so I have one on my ankle. I'm a writer and I'm left-handed, so I have "writer" in cursive on the left wrist. I am a Christian, so I have "saved" with a cross on my right forearm, that way anyone I shake hands with will know my faith. I've never gotten a piece for the sake of "art."

Grey Eyes(sub female){Owned} - I do not consider it branding. Instead I consider it a form of expression of myself.

Litlegrl(sub female){Dragon11} - I have 2 and am looking to add at least 2 more (more if Daddy Dragon says it's ok later on) 😊
I don't see tattoos as "branding", even though one of my next ones will be a dragon that Daddy Dragon approved of. Putting the dragon aside for the moment, all of my other ones (and ones I have ideas for) are personal and have meaning.
The dragon is different in that not only is it personal and has meaning, but it was a request from Daddy Dragon. Not an order, not something I feel I *have* to get. I asked about getting a tattoo of a raven and he mentioned the dragon. We discussed it, looked at a couple designs and found one that I think is pretty and he likes as well.

No Body(dom male) - I have had my nephew tell me his girlfriend paid to have her name put on him and every guy she dated. This was her way of branding them. I know a guy that dated girls only named Barbara because his first was that mane and ir was on his chest

rosethorn(sub female) - Ive been playing with the idea for a while. Im not owed its just me but it has meaning so was pondering if it could be seen as self branding. I thought it would be interesting to see other people's views. :)

Bunnie - Like “collars” it comes down to what one considers “branding” to mean to them.
I see tattoos as a *form* of “branding” (in the sense of a “more permanent” marking) but not actual branding (done with a branding iron).
