So the companion piece to the Steampunk Flogger finished drying today:
It is a birch 1.5 inch rod which had to trim down on the lathe to make the brass ends fit. Capped off with brass on each end and another piece of the steampunk bling on the butt (really can't tell with the ring on)
The birch isn't that much on wood grain and the minwax stain was water based, so it didn't really soak in the birch that well. Looks more like a paint job.
The falls are about 11 inches and has the end of the cowhide I used on the Steampunk, mixed with some moose.
All in all, fairly nice and has good heft. Still room to add more falls (I think there 26 there now) in case I want to add more.
The other project is reworking the magic wand post for the Interrogation Chair:
Did a stress and it seems to be working fine:
So in the middle of giving it a spray job and will see how it all looks tomorrow
Will let dry 24 hours and put it all back together.
The sad part is these two are probably going to be my last projects for some time.
With the tariffs hitting, my material prices are already skyrocketing.
So I am going to kick back and see how things go.
