I post what speaks to me. I like anything that makes me feel. I sometimes have questions or want to know how people think, as a whole outside of and within the lifestyle.

I try to stay away from pet names still the other person is comfortable with it. I’m from the south so pet names is something we all use nothing to do with kink. So I had to get use to not calling sub pet names for the first message.

Thank you for sharing! I agree that the individual should feel comfortable with the name or they could be asked prior to using the pet name. I can see it being hard with growing up around using them.

I honestly judge this according to context. Im all about vibes, energies, feelings, etc. I know that some pet names can just be a simple endearment to some people, and im very much an endearment user (hun, babe, sweetie, etc.). I'm not opposed to others using these as well because I get it. Especially since I try to take upbringing and culture into consideration. But I think that certain names will fall into the honorifics category and names are powerful. Using a title, honorific or pet name for someone you don't know, can put you into a headspace you're not ready for. The beginning stages for vetting or just plain getting to know a person, no matter the type of relationship you're seeking, requires clear lines and boundaries. Its where you discover your level of comfort with that person. Where trust is being built and so on. I just think its wise to not blur the lines with names the person hasn't earned, including yourself.

That makes complete sense. For me personally, I don’t mind hun or sweetheart but if someone calls me baby girl or little one it holds more weight and is not something I am comfortable with that early on.

Im very similar and totally get where you're coming from. This is such a great topic because so many ppl fling honorifics around like they don't mean anything. But they really carry much weight and have the power to even change someone's mood. I love that you take your time and wait until you're comfortable.
